Founder Diane Leonard established Social Franchising in late 2010. Her motivation was to get social media on the agenda in franchise organisations by organising regular networking events for people working in franchising.
It was during her time at Mortgage Choice she realised that despite some franchise groups actively embracing social media, most seemed reluctant or unsure of how to get started.
Social Franchising mission was to encourage networking between franchisees and franchisors around the topic of social media. The networking events were an opportunity to meet like minded people in franchising who were interested in sharing their experiences and learning more about social media in a franchising context.
